The way the feathers could double as fish scales…the teal and pops of red…the way the gold shines when the sun hits it and how it flashes a sheen at night…just magnificent. We believe this is from the 1940’s, and it has lived many lives before it reached our hands so it is in fair condition. It is structurally sound and looks great from both sides but there is significant chipping on the wood as shown in photos and wear on both sides.
In Asian culture cranes are symbolic of luck, hope, purity, and peace. In Greek mythology these mystical birds are said to be messengers of the Gods.
